  7. Picnic organised for patients and their families at the childrens park on the 3rd April 05.
  8. Visit by DR.RATNA CHATTERJEE,senior professor in Endocrinology at UCL-UK

Thalassemics India has been keenly involved in various activities to help cure thalassemia & get people to support and champion the cause.

Some of the major activities have been :
  1. Association workshop at Cyprus on 22nd & 23rd May, 2004.
  2. 14th -17th April, 2004 14th International Conference on Oral Chelation (ICOC) in Utrecht, Netherlands.
  3. Picnic organised by Thalassemics India at Nehru Park chanakpuri on 8th Feb 2004.
  4. A number of Free Check-up Clinics organised in Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai by inviting experts on thalassemia from abroad.
  5. Participation in first International workshop on Thalassemia in Eastern India organised and held at Kolkata on 1st & 2nd February 2004 in collaboration with WHO and with the support of TIF.

  7. Participation in 11th International Thalassemia Conference for Parents and Thalassemics on 15th and 19th October 2003 at Palermo, Italy.

  10. Inauguration of Thalassemia Unit at St.Stephen's Hospital on 11th July, 2002 by Smt. Sheila Diskshit, Hon'ble Chief Minister of N.C.T of Delhi.

  15. A start was made in 1998 to help needy thalassemics towards their blood transfusion charges and donation of Leucocyte Filters, Pumps, Kelfer, Desferal Injections.
  16. Release of information material, association's newsletters, catalogues, posters, calendars etc. from time to time.
  17. Visits to Jaipur, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Calcutta & Burdwan Thalassemia Centres, Ludhiana, Pune.
  18. Registration under Foreign Contribution Act was done in 1998 for receiving funds from abroad.
  19. Participation in Social Development Fair every year since May, 1998.
  20. 1st International Thalassemia Workshop organised at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital from 30th October to 5th November, 1998 in collaboration with TIF & Ministry of Health, Government of N.C.T. of Delhi.
  21. Participation in International Conferences held at Corfu, Nice, Bangkok, Cyprus, London, Malta, Athens & Italy.
  22. TIF Board Meetings attended which were held in Bangkok, Cyprus, Naples, Iran, London, Corfu, Cyprus, London (Twice), Italy.
  23. 1st International Conference on Thalassemia held at The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi in collaboration with TIF & W.H.O. from 25th - 27th Oct., 1996.
  24. Talks on thalassemia in a number of school & collges of Delhi for awareness purpose.
  25. Release of posters on awareness & prevention in Nov. 1995.
  26. Launch of Thalassemics India's greeting cards for sale in July, 1995.
  27. A number of Free Thalassemia Screening Camps held at health melas, schools, colleges & public places since 1995.

  29. Waiver of 5% sales tax, 10% excise duty on Desferal & exemption of custom duty on I.Pumps granted on association's appeals in Dec. 1994.
  30. Seminar on prevention & pre-natal diagnosis of thalassemia at Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi on 31st Dec., 1994.
  31. Inauguration of "Preeti Tuli Thalassemia Unit" at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on 12th Feb., 1994.
  32. Import of Infusion Pumps, Leucocyte Filters, Infusion Sets from U.K., Japan & Italy at special prices for distribution to fellow parents as per their requirements since 1988.
